Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

Join Chapterhouse Theatre Company this summer for an evening of Regency wonderment as Elinor and Marianne Dashwood make their first forays into the exquisite world of eighteenth-century society. Bring a picnic along with family and friends and follow the sisters as they find their path and lose their hearts under a beautiful summer sky in their quest to find the perfect balance of sense and sensibility.

Chapterhouse prides itself on producing traditional and accessible theatre in the open-air and has received critical acclaim across the UK and Europe throughout its 13 years of touring. Every show is beautifully costumed with attention to detail and period, and features enchanting accompanied singing performed live by wonderful casts year in, year out.

But don’t just take our word for it…

Testimonials
Moya Brennan
” What a unique experience! There can’t be anywhere else like Ballykeeffe in Ireland. Playing there was a pleasure – it’s intimate and easy to connect with the audience but at the same time there’s a sense of grandeur and drama beneath the magnificent rockface. A gem of a place and I’m sure destined to become a favourite with all kinds of performers”.
Liam Ó Maonlaí (Hothouse Flowers)

” The amphitheatre is a special and magical community resource.
The dramatic cliff face of the old quarry makes for a very impressive backdrop and the tiered seating is beautifully landscaped in a way that also maximises the acoustics.”
